Litt informasjon:
WY1 model is situated within the Yairi Standard Steelstring series and it comes with a single cutaway folk shaped body. It is made of rosewood back and sides with a spruce top. The top on this model is bound in tortoise and abalone binding. Also, it features a double circle rosette around the centered sound hole. Top is finished in gloss and this model comes only in natural color. The bridge is made of ebony and it sports a characteristic Alvarez shape. Electronics department is equipped with System 600T MkII preamp. It is mounted onto the side of the guitar. Neck is made of mahogany and it is attached to the body with a dovetail joint set at the 14th fret. Ebony fingerboard comes with 20 frets and 1.6875" wide string nut.
Kazuo Yairi, who has died aged 81, was a Japanese classical guitar luthier whose fixation with acoustic sound drove him to make beautiful, resonant guitars favoured by musical such greats as Sir Paul McCartney and Carlos Santana.
