Are you our new operational engine?
Are you Aziwell’s new Chief Operating Officer?
Our vision is to build the world’s most trusted ecosystem for intelligent, directional drilling, and we are now looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead that journey.
We develop and deliver advanced downhole products and services for mining and infrastructure projects, drawing on deep technological expertise that also overlaps with solutions traditionally used in oil and gas. As the company continues its strong international growth, our operational landscape is expanding rapidly, spanning multiple continents, a growing network of subsidiaries, and increasing complexity across field operations, production, and commercial activities.
As COO, you will have overall responsibility for the company's global operational performance, from field project execution and regional operations to production, supply chain, and staffing. You will lead a diverse set of direct reports including Regional Operations Managers, General Managers, and a Production Manager. You will be the operational engine of the executive leadership team, translating strategy into world-class execution and ensuring that our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably across all geographies.
This role will be a central part of the executive leadership team, with a clear strategic and operational mandate.
What you will be doing to make a difference
Lead and coordinate global operations across regions, ensuring consistent execution standards, resource efficiency, and delivery quality across all subsidiaries
Oversee Regional Operations Managers responsible for project execution and resource allocation in their respective regions, driving accountability and performance
Support and develop General Managers (Country Managers) who oversee commercial activities, administration, human resources, and local strategy in their territories
Oversee the Production Manager and ensure that manufacturing, assembly, logistics, procurement, and quality control functions are running efficiently and in sync with field demand
Develop and continuously improve operational processes, workflows, and governance frameworks that support scale and standardization across regions
Work closely with the CEO and executive team to align operational priorities with the company’s commercial and financial objectives
Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and risk areas early — and take decisive action to resolve them before they impact delivery or growth
Foster a high-performance culture across the operational organization, with clear ownership, continuous improvement, and strong cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate closely with the CPTO and commercial team to align product availability, new deployments, and field capability with market opportunities
As COO, you will own and deliver a comprehensive monthly operational report to the CEO and executive team.
What you need to succeed
Higher education in business, engineering, or a related field
Extensive experience in operational leadership, ideally in an international, multi-entity environment
Proven ability to lead diverse teams across geographies and cultures, with a strong coaching mindset and genuine commitment to people development
Solid understanding of field operations, supply chain, and production environments, preferably within drilling, mining, oil and gas, or related industries
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect operational performance to financial outcomes
Experience building and implementing scalable operational processes and governance structures in growing organizations
Track record of managing complexity, across multiple subsidiaries, time zones, and regulatory environments, while maintaining focus and execution quality
The authority and decisiveness to set clear priorities and make difficult calls under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment at all levels of the organization
Excellent English language skills. Norwegian and/or Spanish language skills is considered a strong advantage
The position reports to the CEO. The role is based at the company’s headquarters in Trondheim. International travel should be expected, given the global nature of Aziwell’s operations.
