CamRanger is a stand-alone device that connects to select Canon or Nikon DLSR cameras with a provided USB cable. It creates its own WiFi network that your device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, or Mac or Windows computer) can then connect to. The free CamRanger app then enables control of the camera. There is no need for a computer or existing Internet connection.
CamRanger provides near complete control of a camera from up to 150 feet away, including the following features:

• View and set parameters (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance, Focus Mode, Capture Mode, image format, etc)

Live View - Wirelessly stream live view to your iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android device, or Mac or Windows computer. Complete focusing control with touch focus, incremental adjustments, and focus stacking.
Capture & View - Images Capture images in all drive modes. Then view full resolution images in JPG or Canon RAW and optionally save to an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android device, or Mac or Windows computer. CamRanger is a great wireless tethering solution.
View & Edit Camera Settings - Remotely change and view camera settings: Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance, Drive/Shooting Mode (Single, Continuous, etc.), AF, Metering Mode, Image Format, Auto Exposure Mode, and Exposure Compensation and Bracketing.
Record Movies - Wirelessly record movies to view and edit later. CamRanger supports touch focusing during movie recording for many Nikon and Canon cameras.
Intervalometer/HDR - Setup intervalometer (time lapse) or HDR on your CamRanger. No need for your iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android device, or Mac or Windows computer to remain connected after the initial setup.
Macro & Focus Stacking - Perfect for macro photography where your camera is in awkward locations or very precise focus control is needed. Use automatic focus stacking for enhanced depth of field.

CamRanger is powered by a rechargeable, replaceable battery, the battery life is conservatively 3-6 hours depending on use. Its size and portability allows CamRanger to be used in a variety of settings. CamRanger includes a carrying case to attach it to a tripod, belt loop, camera strap, etc. to allow for use of the cameras flash and battery grips attached to the camera.
Internet access is required for initial registration.
CamRanger Newest Firmware Update
CamRanger LLC is pleased to announce a firmware update for the award winning CamRanger. The newest update allows the photographer or videographer to simultaneously broadcast images or live feed to multiple iPads, iPhones, Android devices, Mac or Windows computers. The CamRanger allows advanced wireless camera control of over three dozen Canon DSLR and Nikon DSLR cameras and wireless tethering to an iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows computer, including the option of wireless shooting into Lightroom.
The firmware update for the CamRanger allows the photographer to take photos from either the camera or from an iPad (or iPhone, Android device, Mac or Windows computer) and have clients, directors, colleagues, or students view the images or live feed from their own device using the "CamRanger Share" application which is specific for each platform. If the photographer or videographer has watermarks turned on then the person using the CamRanger Share app will see watermarks as well on their own device.
In addition to adding the ability to share images the firmware update allows the photographer to bridge into an existing WiFi network. The CamRanger creates its own WiFi network, but if the photographer wants to bridge into a network to extend the WiFi range, or post images to the Internet or FTP server immediately, then this feature gives the photographer this option.
