Tilstand: Pent brukt - I god stand
Selling a Drobo S 5-bay external storage system with five 2TB Western Digital hard drives installed. Originally used for photography storage and media files. The system has seen very light use over the past ~8 years and has mostly been sitting unused. All drives power on normally and all drive status lights are green.
Includes 5 × 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black drives (WD2002FAEX, 7200RPM, 64MB cache). Drives are detected and all status lights are green. Due to age (2011 manufacture), the drives are included as-is. Drives can be replaced with larger ones at any time and the Drobo automatically expands the storage pool.
One of the reasons Drobo became popular with photographers was that you could literally pull a drive out while a movie was playing and it wouldn’t stop, because the data is distributed across the array. That functionality still works today.

The Drobo S uses BeyondRAID, a smart storage system that automatically distributes data across all installed drives.
Features include:
• Automatic data protection (single-disk redundancy by default)
• Hot-swap drives without shutting down
• Automatic rebuild if a drive fails
• Expand storage simply by replacing drives with larger ones
With BeyondRAID, the system protects your data even if a drive fails. The unit can also be configured for dual-disk redundancy (tolerating two simultaneous drive failures with no data loss) using the Drobo Dashboard software. The software is not included but is still available online.

Due to compatibility limits from older systems (for example Windows XP), the Drobo was originally configured as four virtual volumes of ~2.2TB each. This is normal for older Drobo systems — internally the storage still operates as one pooled storage system managed by BeyondRAID.
