Superfeet Yellow insoles were designed by Superfeet to replace the Grey insoles and while they are basically the same as the Grey Superfeet insoles in every respect they have one new feature that is meant to benefit people who use skates and other athletic shoes that have perforated outsoles.
The outsole is the bottom of the shoe. In regular shoes the outsole is the part of the shoe that is between the insole (the removable shoe liner sometimes called a sock liner) and the ground. In skates it is the part of the shoe that is between the insole and the blade or wheel mount. Since many skates (and some cleats and cycling shoes) have hard plastic outsoles that don’t breathe at all it is common for manufacturers to put small breathing holes in the bottom of these shoes at the ball of the foot. These holes help to promote air flow in the skate (cleat or shoe) and control moisture build up. The Yellow Superfeet insoles have a diamond shaped pattern of breathing holes at the ball of the foot that is meant to line up with the breathing holes in these types of shoes and further promote air flow and breathability.
Yellow Superfeet insoles are designed for shoes that have only limited space to fit insoles or arch supports in and have a heel that is slightly higher then the forefoot. The patented ramp angle arch support in the Superfeet Yellow insole is ideal for cycling shoes, ice skates, cowboy boots and women's dress and casual shoes with heels over 1 inch. Although Yellow Superfeet insoles feature an ultra-thin profile, these insoles still add considerable arch support and comfort to tighter fitting shoes. Yellow Superfeet insoles are truly effective shoe inserts for tight fitting shoes and shoes with without removable insoles.
Yellow Superfeet insoles are unique foam arch supports that use contoured Trocellen™ foam insoles reinforced with patented plastic arch support bridges to cradle the heel and support the arch. Trocellen™ is a firm and resilient foam that isn't soft or spongy. It is designed to be light and shock absorbing yet firm and supportive. The plastic arch support bridge helps to accentuate the supportive contours of the Trocellen™ foam shoe inserts. Yellow Superfeet insoles (arch supports) are light but surprisingly sturdy, supportive and comfortable. These shoe inserts add significant arch support and improve the fit and comfort of almost any pair of shoes.
