Are you our new Regional Director Europe?

The Regional Director for Europe will oversee a broad network of airports across multiple European markets, ensuring consistent, high-quality ground operations in a complex and diverse operational environment. This role requires a strategic-minded leader who can manage varying regulatory frameworks, supplier landscapes, and operational expectations across the continent. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across all assigned European stations. In addition, you will represent the organisation in cross‑border forums, championing best practice and aligning regional performance with global objectives. This position demands strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate multi-country operations with both strategic insight and operational rigour.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring all European ground operations meet safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and company policies.
• Leading a multi-country team, promoting high performance, talent development, and operational consistency.
• Driving operational delivery across diverse markets, managing KPIs, performance reviews, and improvement actions.
• Establishing strong partnerships with suppliers and major European airports, ensuring contractual and performance alignment.
• Supporting the SVP GO in implementing cross‑regional strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
• Managing regional budgets, optimising costs, and challenging variances where needed.
• Coordinating large-scale audit programs, risk assessments, and safety initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Representing the company in European aviation forums, regulatory discussions, and multinational stakeholder meetings.

You are our ideal candidate if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business Administration, or a related field; Relevant experience may qualify
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operational management within the aviation industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple locations.
• Strong understanding of IATA ground handling standards and relevant aviation regulations (EASA, ICAO, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams.
• Track record of achieving operational targets and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Our Story
The Norwegian story began almost three decades ago - we were founded in 1993 but only began operating as a low-cost carrier with Boeing 737 aircraft in 2002. Our core values have remained the same since the beginning - to offer affordable fares for all and to allow customers to travel the smart way by offering value and choice throughout their journey.

The Norwegian brand expanded across the globe as the airline launched short haul services across Europe and then entered the long-haul sector serving the US, Asia and South America. In 2018 the company changed course to focus on core destinations and the right sizing of the airline in response to customer demand and global industry trends.

The rapid global spread of COVID-19 throughout 2020 and into 2021 accelerated this process and in January 2021 the company announced a simplified business structure and a dedicated short haul only network concentrating on a broad range of domestic routes in Norway, across the Nordics and to key European destinations.

Our route network focuses on connecting a broad range of domestic routes in Norway, across the Nordics and key European destinations. We will explore new ancillaries that provide our customers with greater choice and flexibility to allow them to travel at a cost and service level that suits their individual needs.

We will continue to support jobs, tourism and the wider economies in the destinations that we serve by providing vital air links that will benefit the leisure, business and trade industries. We will fortify the Nordics as the cornerstone of the Norwegian business strategy.
