The Operator Technical (OT) serves as the Central Control Room (CCR) operator and is responsible for the majority of communication both to and from the rig. The OT position also function as the operating and watchkeeping role for the power supply system and the basic auxiliary systems onboard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Routine checks of the machinery, planning of maintenance
Monitor gauges, alarms, and general conditions of machinery and equipment. Line up systems and ensure the machinery is running smoothly.
Monitor Rig Control Network (RCN), critical alarms, fire & gas alarms, emergency shutdown (ESD) alarms, engine room alarms and any other alarm systems with indicators, alarms and controls installed in the Central Control Room (CCR) and act upon the alarms.
Perform planned and corrective maintenance as directed by superiors and in accordance with established procedures.
Operate communication equipment and monitor radio traffic in accordance with the requirements stipulated by the flag state of the rig and rules and regulations applicable to the operating area.
Participate in the emergency preparedness drills
Arrange/monitor communication according to Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) equipment onboard.
Monitor Automatic Identification System (AIS).
Monitor and log positions of ships and helicopters trafficking to the rig, and maintain contact with standby boat and other vessels attending operation.
Perform helicopter flight monitoring and assist with weather condition reporting.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Someone with minimum 3 years mechanical offshore experience (ships or drilling rig). Marine engineer background preferred.
Knowledge of plant operation, CMMS system, power management system, maintenance and computerized maintenance systems
Solid experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
Preferably fluent in both English and Scandinavian language
