About the role

We are looking for a structured and operationally strong junior colleague with a background in sustainability to support our commercial and customer-facing operations at XIO Sustainability Analytics. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs related to Scope 3 GHG accounting, financed emissions, and nature-related impact assessments, and support their use of EXIOBASE and thereof derived products.

The role sits at the intersection of account management, customer support, and internal operations. You will contribute across sales, technical, and marketing workstreams to ensure smooth onboarding, renewals, and day-to-day customer communication.

This is a hands-on role in a small team, offering broad exposure, steep learning, and the opportunity to contribute directly to product development and internal processes.

You will:

• Work closely with customers, attend calls, support onboarding, and build long-term client relationships

• Act as a primary point of customer contact, explaining the EXIOBASE model and how its products are applied in Scope 3 accounting and related sustainability workflows

• Support customer renewals and maintain a structured and efficient customer and sales pipeline

• Contribute to customer-facing materials, including documentation, onboarding content, presentations, website content, and selected marketing materials

• Conduct basic market and customer research, including identifying and qualifying potential customers and supporting commercial strategy and product positioning

We are a small team, so tasks and responsibilities will evolve as we grow. Depending on your experience, interest and expertise, you can also work on the technical side of the product which will include: EXIOBASE model backend development, definition of product specifications, technical support of customers and development of technical documentation.

Your Qualifications:

• MSc Environmental Science, Engineering or Sustainability or similar

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in customer support, account operations, ESG reporting, sustainability consulting, or a similar role

• Understanding of carbon accounting principles, knowledge of reporting landscape and standards (GHG Protocol, CSRD, PCAF etc.)

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English

• Comfort working with CRM systems and structured processes

• Interest in working with data-driven or technical products

• Ability to coordinate between customers and internal teams
