Engineering Manager - Offshore Wind
With Aibel you have a chance to develop your career through a range of projects in renewables and oil and gas. We call ourselves Engineering Pioneers. Whatever our job is, we approach it with creativity, curiosity and a drive to find new and better solutions. First we imagine the future. Then we build it.
As an Engineering Manager within Offshore Wind, you will play a central role in shaping, developing, and delivering complex engineering scopes across all project phases - from concept development and tendering to FEED and EPCI execution. You will oversee the full engineering scope required to fulfil customer contracts and project charters, ensuring high technical quality, efficient execution, and alignment with organizational standards.
In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, set direction, build capability, and foster strong collaboration across functions. You will be a key driver in implementing Aibel’s standard HVDC and HVAC concepts and methods, contributing to the development of standardized designs and specifications in close cooperation with the Offshore Wind Concepts Team. A core part of your work will include managing interfaces between internal and external stakeholders, supporting procurement and construction activities with accurate and timely inputs, and working closely with project management to identify risks, implement mitigation measures, and ensure continuous project follow up.
Qualifications
Bachelors's or Master’s degree in Engineering (or similar)
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in engineering management or project execution within the energy sector
Experience from offshore wind (e.g. HVDC or HVAC EPC) or other renewable energy projects is an advantage
Demonstrated ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex technical projects
Commercial experience, including contract, change and risk management
Personal qualities
You bring strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of contractual, financial, and risk related aspects of EPC delivery. You thrive in collaborative environments, build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, and communicate with clarity and impact. Your leadership style is supportive and inclusive, enabling teams to perform at their best. You are proactive, solution oriented, eager to share knowledge, and committed to continuous improvement. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential; knowledge of Norwegian is an advantage.
