Postdoc in translational proton therapy research
We are seeking a postdoc fellow in translational proton therapy research at our new, state-of-the art preclinicalproton therapy facility at Oslo University Hospital. The project aims todevelop a novel strategy for proton therapy, combining metabolic drugs withproton irradiation to improve treatment outcomes of patients with prostatecancer. A central objective is to establish a robust preclinical pipeline forproton-drug combination therapies, integrating medical imaging and digitalhistopathology, with a goal for future clinical translation.
Work will be carried out in a cross-disciplinary team spanning radiation biology, physics, oncology, radiology, and pathology,with close links to our clinical collaborators at the hospital. The position isavailable for 3 years, with the possibility of extension.

Tasks
- Conduct pre-clinical studies in tumor-bearing mice
- Apply MR imaging, histopathology, transcriptomics, and related methods to assess tumor response markers following proton-drug combination therapy
- Link preclinical data to existing pretreatment data of prostate cancer patients
Qualifications
Required
- PhD in biology, biophysics, biotechnology, or related fields
- Hands-on experience with experimental research (cells and/or animal models)
Preferred
- Expertise in animal models
- Expertise in MRI, histopathology, ionizing radiation, and molecular analyses
- Experience with statistical methods for large scale data and image analysis
