Duties and responsibilities

The role

As Head of SysCore Development, you'll nurture and guide a diverse team of 9 technical specialists who build the integration infrastructure connecting NBIM's core systems. Your leadership will enable your team and partners across the organization to deliver innovative solutions through collaborative approaches to integration, cloud architecture, and automation. You'll champion system reliability and continuous improvement, creating visibility that helps everyone succeed.

This hands-on role blends people leadership with technical vision. You'll support your team across essential investment operations—trade execution, portfolio management, and settlement—while fostering strong relationships with external partners and ensuring seamless system integration. Your approach will be founded on agile principles.

You'll develop Application Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, and DevOps specialists, building a culture where technical excellence, collaboration, and growth flourish across our global platform.

What you will do

• Lead 9 specialists across Application Development, Infrastructure Development, and DevOps
  
• Set technical standards, make architecture decisions (build/maintain/retire), and enforce code quality
  
• Drive observability, monitoring, logging, and performance visibility across all systems
  
• Champion AI and automation across all development activities
  
• Oversee technical solutions for Execution Management, Order Management, IBOR, Matching and Settlement
  
• Ensure robust implementation of industry protocols (FIX, SWIFT, MCP, REST APIs)
  
• Coordinate with SysCore Solutions leadership on backlogs, feasibility, and priorities
  
• Balance technical debt against operational needs and modernization
  
• Work with other teams in Technology and Operations on platforms, technologies, and infrastructure standards
  
• Build career paths and manage hiring for technical talent

What you need

• Proven track record leading technical teams in mission-critical environments
  
• Deep knowledge: integration architecture, cloud infrastructure, database management
  
• Familiarity with industry protocols
  
• Experience with architecture decisions at scale and managing distributed teams
  
• Strong people leadership developing technical talent across multiple disciplines and locations
  
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, related field, or equivalent technical experience
