At the turn of the 20th century Comiot manufactured a popular line of petroleum-powered tricycles that were available at its showroom on the boulevard Gouvion-Saint-Cyr, not far from the Porte Maillot entrance to the Bois de Boulogne. The tricycle, which was a rarity only two years before, had become incredibly popular and could be seen all about town. Printed on two joined sheets of paper, Théophile Steinlen's enormous poster provides but a glimpse of the motorized tricycle itself, relying instead on humor to sell its product: a female driver has steered the contraption into a flock of geese.
