Your Responsibilities
You will supervise the execution of Shelf Drilling's logistics strategy to minimize transportation costs and ensure the safe and timely delivery of equipment to drilling operations. Coordinate logistics management to complement the overall Supply Chain strategy. Responsible for daily procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for assigned commodities or projects as applicable. Lead in the training and mentoring of professional buyers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Your Main Tasks
Coordinate all activities closely with the Regional Supply Chain Manager, and with Supply Chain’s purchasing, inventory, risk and data managers in compliance with Shelf Drilling’s policies and procedures (standard operating procedures) with freight forwarders governing import/export of materials and equipment.
Aid in the development of ideas in coordination with regional management for reduction in transportation costs and efficiency of the supply chain system.
Aid in the development of and maintain specific management oversight reports on a monthly basis to be submitted to the immediate supervisor. Costs and trends on various types of freight, frequency of import/export discrepancies/system failures, totals for all tariff costs by country/region and other reports as assigned/deemed necessary.
Aid in management of freight movement closely with operations to ensure the most timely and cost effective modes of transport of equipment and materials.
Lead management of freight and document control for goods being imported and exported to and from the rigs to ensure compliance.
Identify opportunities for charter, part charters etc. for cost savings.
Participate in negotiations for various trucking, air and ocean freight contracts including charters, part charters, etc., including local services provided by forwarders and freight agents.
Monitor scheduling of equipment deliveries for projects.
Monitor tariffs and freight invoice approvals as directed by immediate supervisor.
Work with 3PL to ensure we are adhering to regional customs compliance laws/regulations.
Set KPI’s with 3PL’s and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures.
Assist buyers with vendor issues as and when required.
Cycle Count and maintain inventory and assets in regional shore bases/yards.
Perform all Asset transfers in the region and maintain AMR Log.
Provide Supply Chain ERP support to the rigs when required.
Education/Experience
Minimum Bachelor degree in Logistics or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and/or logistics management
