Rolls-Royce Electric Norway AS is a part of Rolls-Royce’s Electrical and Electronics engineering organization. We develop electric machines and power drives from an early concept level, through building and testing prototypes, to products entering the market. Rolls-Royce in Trondheim delivers services and products to the aerospace, marine, defense, oil & gas and power generation industries. Electric machines and power drives will replace fossil fuel engines in several sectors, and we are pioneering this change.
The Electric Systems and Components team is responsible for all electric system design and analysis to support the motor designs. This comprises converter hardware and software design, design and implementation of controller structures, as well as more supervisory control systems. Further, the team is involved in analysis, simulation, definition and testing of the full electrical system, including small grids.
New electrical converter and drive concepts are needed to meet the requirements of tomorrow. Reliability, efficiency, challenging environments and cost are key drivers. We are seeking a person that is eager to bring new electric drives and systems from idea to reality. You will be working in several teams with colleagues in our international and interdisciplinary community.
Qualifications:
M.Sc./Ph.D. in electrical power engineering
7+ years of engineering experience
Experience: (We encourage you to apply even if not all the experience is met)
Electrical drives, power electronics and/or electrical systems design
Thermal management and cooling solutions
Testing of electrical systems, instrumentation and the control thereof
Use of advanced simulation tools for of electric drive systems (Matlab/Simulink, Plecs or similar)
