Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin)
We’re looking for a mid-level Fullstack Engineer (3–5 years of experience) to join our collaborative and growing team in Oslo. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade SaaS solutions used by leading news and content publishers around the world. Our customers expect high availability, performance, and quality—and we expect the same from ourselves.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute across the stack, help solve real production challenges, and shape systems that directly impact millions of users.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain backend services, with a focus on Java and Kotlin
Build and improve infrastructure, tooling, and automation to support smooth operations
Collaborate with teammates locally and remotely, sharing knowledge and best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system resilience and scalability
Take full ownership of your work, from design to deployment
Participate in our on-call rotation (1 week every ~2 months, fully paid)
What We’re Looking For
Essential experience (3–5 years):
Strong backend development skills in Java
Comfortable with Linux as both dev and production environment
Hands-on with cloud platforms and/or bare-metal infrastructure
Experience with production support and incident troubleshooting
Track record of automation and efficiency improvements
Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
Nice to have (a plus, not a requirement):
Exposure to real-time, large-scale data processing
Experience with Kotlin
Interest in AI/LLMs
Frontend development skills
Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Bazel, Gradle, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of Elasticsearch
Qualifications
Eligible to live and work in Norway (immediately available)
Fluent in English (working language)
Degree in Computer Science or related field

Screening Interview
Conducted via video call to confirm mutual fit and ensure expectations are aligned.Technical Interview
Led by one or two of our senior engineers. This includes a discussion on a technical and architectural case, as well as a short but related live coding exercise in a web-based editor. We keep this lightweight - no take‑home assignments.Final Interview
A conversation with the hiring manager about your growth as an engineer and how that aligns with our needs. This is also your opportunity to ask any remaining questions. We prefer to conduct this session in person.Decision
Following the interviews, we’ll provide a clear outcome—offer or no offer.
