Job description

Axactor is looking for a Legal counsel to join the corporate legal and compliance function at its headquarters in Oslo. Axactor’s global legal and compliance team provides legal advice and supports compliance and risk management across the group. The team consists of about 15 employees globally, of which three are situated in Oslo. The position is situated close to the top management, and reports to the Chief of Staff (General counsel).

As part of this role, you will have the following main responsibilities:

• General legal advice securing legal quality assurance in all critical processes
• Support the organization in bid- and contractual processes, both customer and vendor, incl. risk mitigations in contractual process with specific focus on acquisition of NPL portfolios from banks and financial institutions and contract management
• Ensure all legal entities are compliant with good corporate governance
• Monitor and support the organization on changes in relevant regulations and industry practices and assist in dialogue with the authorities
• Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors
• Ad-hoc tasks related to wide array of projects, such as M&A transactions, funding, etc.

Qualifications

• Norwegian master’s degree in law
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Norwegian license to practice ( Advokatbevilling) is an advantage, but not a requirement
• High proficiency in written and spoken Norwegian and English
• High ethical standards and integrity
• Great social and communication skills
• Experience, or interest, in either of the following areas: Contract law, corporate law, securities law, joint ventures, and/or investment agreements.
