YOUR CHALLENGES
CBRE GWS is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Manager to oversee the availability, accuracy, and strategic management of critical hardware and networking components across our data center operations. This role is essential to sustaining uptime, operational efficiency, and scalability across our infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with Network and Hardware Technicians to align inventory with operational needs, streamline logistics, and support rapid deployment and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain accurate records of all spare parts, network gear, and server hardware using RFID and DCIM tools
Manage inventory lifecycle from procurement to deployment, including RMA tracking and vendor coordination
Forecast inventory needs based on capacity planning, maintenance schedules, and expansion projects
Ensure timely replenishment of critical components to support rapid break-fix and deployment operations
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with DC Network and Hardware Technicians to align inventory with operational needs
Serve as the primary liaison for vendor logistics, including shipping, receiving, and returns
Support hardware qualification and testing processes by ensuring availability of required components
Compliance & Auditing
Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with industry standards (ISO, SOC, HIPAA)
Implement and maintain best practices for inventory security, traceability, and environmental controls
Process Optimization
Develop and refine inventory workflows to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency
Contribute to automation initiatives for inventory tracking and reporting
Identify and resolve recurring inventory-related issues through root cause analysis and process improvements
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in inventory control or supply chain management, preferably in a data center or technical environment
Familiarity with RFID systems, DCIM tools, and structured cabling components
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams and vendors
Experience with asset management platforms and ERP systems is a plus
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in inventory management, logistics, or data center operations
Experience supporting high-performance computing (HPC) environments
Knowledge of cabling systems (fiber, copper) and data center infrastructure
Exposure to scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation
