Program Manager

About the position

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects within Kongsberg Automotive’s Drive Control Systems business area. Based at our facilities in Mullsjö or Gothenburg (Sweden) or Kongsberg (Norway), you will oversee complex, cross-functional programs from concept to completion—ensuring delivery on scope, budget, and schedule while upholding the highest quality and safety standards. You will collaborate with global teams and customers to drive program success and continuous improvement. 

• Lead and manage projects within the Drive Control Systems business area

• Define, plan, and track project goals, milestones, deliverables, and budgets

• Ensure delivery within approved budget and schedule; develop recovery plans as needed

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, and customers

• Coordinate activities across departments and international sites

• Prepare and present project status reports to the Steering Committee (STC)

• Lead internal and customer project meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, processes, and regulatory requirements

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively

• Manage engineering change requests to support profitability and technical objectives

• Maintain accurate project documentation within the PLM structure

• Establish and promote best practices for efficient project execution

• Manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain up-to-date financial forecasts

• BSc or MSc in Engineering, with 6-8 years’ experience in project management

• Proven track record in system, software, or electronics project delivery within the automotive industry

• Globally recognized Program Management certification is highly desirable

• Awareness of and ability to work within frameworks such as ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and Cybersecurity standards

• Experience with core automotive quality processes such as APQP, PPAP, and FMEA

• Strong grasp of automotive project management methodologies and tools

• Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team collaboration skills

• Effective communication and cross-cultural interpersonal abilities

• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to perform under pressure and maintain focus on key objectives

• Experience across PM processes, preferably with exposure to production, quality, purchasing, marketing, or product/process development

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and personal accountability

• Excellent command of English and the local language, both spoken and written
