Want to build mission-critical technology for emergency services? Join us as a Software Architect!
About the job
At Bliksund, we create mission-critical systems that help emergency and healthcare professionals focus on what really matters - saving lives. Our goal is to create innovative, user-friendly solutions that support emergency workers in both daily operations and during crisis situations.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for an architect that can help us shape the future of our Emergency Worker Assistant (EWA). Someone who can capitalize on existing strengths of the product while defining future functionality as well as aid transition from outdated components. The ideal candidate can communicate these ideas clearly to both technical developers and business stakeholders. Ideally, the candidate has hands-on experience with coding in order to review ideas in practice.
What you’ll do
Collaborate with users and product to model domains, events, and bounded contexts; turn requirements into clear design specifications.
Mentor teams in DDD, event-driven thinking, testing strategies, and SRE/operability practices.
Sequence changes safely, manage deprecations, and design for backwards compatibility in live environments.
Resilience, observability, security, and privacy by design for regulated, mission-critical contexts.
Work across the stack with pragmatic hands-on spikes, reference implementations, and ADRs.
We think you have these qualities
Product-minded: you translate field reality into simple, maintainable models.
Clear conceptual thinker with the ability to translate complex thoughts into simple schematics.
Pragmatic and systematic: comfortable making decisions under uncertainty and iterating safely.
Clear communication writing and diagrams; able to align diverse stakeholders.
Fluent in Norwegian and English; eligible for Norwegian security clearance.
You have these qualifications
MSc in computer science or engineering.
7+ years in software architecture/engineering, including event- or domain modeling and distributed systems.
Proven experience designing event-driven systems (events, streams, sagas) and well-versioned APIs. (Influenced by public work on event sourcing and architecture.)
Hands-on with container orchestration and cloud (Azure and Orange) and modern IaC (Terraform/Pulumi/).
Strong background in .NET/C# or similar, plus one additional language (e.g., Python/TypeScript).
Deep understanding of reliability (SLOs, error budgets), observability, and incident-ready operations.
Experience with modern front-end frameworks and design (e.g., React Native, Vue.js, Flutter).
Nice to have
Experience with event-sourced systems and messaging (e.g., EventStoreDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Knowledge of healthcare/interoperability domains is a plus.
Public speaking, writing, or OSS contributions.
Our environment
You may encounter: .NET 8/C#, REST/gRPC, Kubernetes, managed cloud services, GitHub Actions, Observability (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana), OAuth2/OIDC/Entra ID, and ADR-driven decision logs.
Office location
The ideal candidate should be able to work from Oslo (NO) or Grimstad (NO). Hybrid options can be discussed.
