Beskrivelse av varen
Rare clandestine pamphlet (Tarnschrift) from the Second World War, disguised with the innocuous title “Erste Hilfe” (First Aid).
Format: Small booklet, c. 130+ pages
Date: c. 1944
Content:
While appearing to be a harmless first-aid manual, the text actually contains anti-Nazi resistance material. It exposes the abuse of the medical system under “total war” regulations and offers disguised advice on how to feign illness or prolong sick leave to avoid forced labor or military service.
This type of camouflage publication (Tarnschrift) was secretly produced and distributed to undermine Nazi authority.
Unique Feature – Allied Leaflet Fragment (1 January 1945)
Affixed to the cover is a surviving fragment of a rare Allied black propaganda leaflet, printed on orange paper and dated 1 January 1945, with the text:
“An den Fronten 4 780 000 gefallene Soldaten.
In der Heimat 11 660 000 Bombengeschädigte.”
(“At the fronts 4,780,000 fallen soldiers.
At home 11,660,000 bomb-damaged victims.”)
The leaflet concluded with the call “Schluss!” (“Enough!/Stop!”). Such leaflets were dropped over Germany in the final months of the war to highlight casualties and encourage surrender.
