Ready for a new and interesting challenge? We want you on our chemical compliance team! Group Product Safety is looking for a Chemical Compliance Specialist to take part in the transition to a safer and more sustainable coatings industry.
The global chemical regulatory landscape is changing and developing faster than ever before, making this an exciting area ripe with novelty and opportunities to develop valuable professional skills. Your focus will be global, and your work will be highly cross-functional – this position is therefore well-suited to those who are sociable and able to work with many types of people.
Group Product Safety handles the administration of Jotun’s raw material portfolio, product safety and SDSs, toxicology, sustainability, biocidal product registrations, and much more. We are a group of friendly, skilled, and driven people working together in a highly competent environment. You will be based at Jotun’s state-of-the-art headquarters (HQ) in Sandefjord, which boasts one of the largest privately owned R&D centers in Europe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Track developments in global industrial chemical regulations; foresee challenges and consequences before they arise;
· Assess chemical compliance of raw materials for use in Jotun;
· Liaise with raw material suppliers on regulatory issues;
· Support corporate and regional labs by assessing chemical compliance in innovation projects;
· Help global operations meet the complex requirements of regulations that are still under implementation (UK-REACH, KKDIK, Korea-REACH, Ukraine REACH, etc.);
· Participate in national and international forums with experts from other companies.
What We Look For And What We Offer
Qualifications
You have:
· At a minimum, a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in chemistry or another relevant natural or applied science (biology, ecology, engineering, etc.);
· Interest and competence in IT (some knowledge of databases and good data practices is necessary; greater experience in IT is an advantage);
· Previous professional experience in regulatory affairs is an advantage;
· Fluency in English.
