This role will be based in Well Expertise’s main offices at Randaberg just outside Stavanger. The successful candidate will be leading the planning of well activities, follow-up of design documentation, activity programs and detailed operational procedures. The role will report to the CEO/COO organizationally and to the Project Manager/ Drilling Superintendent when working on a project.

Job Description:

• Responsible as lead engineer for well management projects

• Lead/participate in the tendering process for 3rd party services

• Contribute with input to governmental documents required for a well planning process

• Mentor and coach younger Drilling Engineers

• Be a focal point towards 3rd party contractors and clients

• Work closely with representatives from the operator both during the planning stages of a well and during the execution phase

• Assist with GAP analysis both towards the contractors and Operators

• Pursue adoption of new technology if proven and value adding

• Participate in audits towards 3rd party contractors

• Work with cost controllers to generate detailed cost estimates (AFE) for various well designs

• Assist cost controllers during execution phase with daily cost control

• Prepare casing and tubing design and check same using applicable software (Well Expertise uses Oliasoft)

Qualifications:

• MSc Degree in Energy/Petroleum Engineering or similar

• Offshore experience as Drilling Engineer and/or Drilling Supervisor is a plus

• Minimum 8 years experience as Drilling Engineer where at least 3 years should be as Senior Drilling Engineer

• Experience with use of software such as Landmark, Oliasoft, Wellcat and Stresscheck

• Good understanding of the Norsok D-010 and associated Norwegian governmental regulations including good understanding of well barriers

• Sound understanding of risk and its incorporation in the planning process

• Very good written and oral English. Norwegian is an advantage, but not a must

• Must have work permit and residence permit in Norway
