Join Our Team: 1st Grade teacher

Trondheim International School is seeking a qualified 1st grade teacher on a 100% temporary position. The employment period is from November 1st 2025 to July 31st 2026.

Primary Years Teacher:

Lessons are taught in English. Both international and Norwegian teachers are encouraged to apply.

• Lead learning for every student

• Assess, evaluate and report on students’ development

• Establish systems and routines that promote student responsibility

• Actively promote the school wide expectations of the students

• Implement student behavior management practices

• Intervene with student incidents and communicate to the appropriate member of the school community

• Follow-up on student-related incidents that have been brought up by students, parents or members of staff

Plan varied learning situations to enhance the curriculum (incl. ICT and outdoor experiences)

Qualifications and Experiences

• Approved relevant teacher education 

• Fluency in English 

• Fluency in Norwegian

• Current police record check (politiattest) must be provided if offered a position

• If you are educated outside of Norway, a teacher degree certification and a recognition from HKDIR is desired (https://hkdir.no/utdanning-fra-utlandet).

• International work experience is desired, but not required 

• Knowledge about the IB programs is desired, but not required 

There is a legal requirement to provide a police certificate ahead of the commencement of the role.
