Head Baker Wanted – Lead the Rise at Flåm Bakery
Are you a skilled and passionate baker who loves crafting high-quality baked goods – and ready to take charge of production in a bakery known for its high standards? Flåm Artisan bakery is looking for an experienced baker to lead the production at our 2 popular bakeries.
About us:
Flåm Bakeri opened in 2016 and has been a fantastic success ever since. This summer, we moved into brand-new, spacious premises on the waterfront in the heart of Flåm. Our second location, Laksen Bakeri & Kafé in Lærdal, has seen similar growth. Together, we offer a wide range of products, including artisan breads, traditional Norwegian sweet buns, and classic international pastries – as well as local juices, sandwiches, pizza, and barista coffee.
As Head of Bakery Production, you will play a central role in ensuring our bakeries deliver top-quality baked goods every day. You’ll be a key partner to Gro, our bakery team lead, and help drive the development of our production processes, product range, and team culture.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and organize the daily production of baked goods across our locations to ensure freshness and quality at all times
Actively participate in production while maintaining high standards and efficient workflows
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and adapt our product offerings in line with customer preferences and market trends
Follow established food safety and hygiene procedures (IK-mat) and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Support administrative tasks such as shift planning and recruitment
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture with a focus on motivation, collaboration, and well-being
Contribute to continuous improvement of production routines and product development
Qualifications:
Certificate of apprenticeship (fagbrev) as a baker or equivalent experience in food production
Several years of experience from an artisan bakery, with solid knowledge of production techniques and quality control
Experience with cake baking is a plus
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team
Driver’s license (Class B)
Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not a requirement
