We are hiring a Vessel Manager!

OSM Thome is seeking a Vessel Manager to join our tanker fleets based in Norway, either our Bergen or Arendal office. As a Vessel Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of technical management for the vessel under your responsibility, from engineering solutions to operational strategies, ensuring safe, efficient, crew, and cost-effective vessel operations that meet our high-performance standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all technical and financial aspects of vessel operations.

• Oversee maintenance plans and budgets, including planning for yard stays and docking.

• Ensure compliance with class and flag state requirements.

• Coordinate day-to-day operations, bridging communication between vessels, management, and clients.

• Drive performance management of the top four officers on board.

Qualifications:

• Higher education in marine technology or engineering (MSc/BSc) with relevant experience in technical ship management.

• Alternatively, background as a marine engineer or navigational officer or experience in a similar role as a Vessel Manager/Superintendent.

• Experience with vessel types, preferably tankers (crude, shuttle, product or chemical)

• Proficient in English (written and verbal).

• Strong computer skills and knowledge of maintenance systems.
