Storfjord is a small, family-owned hotel where personal service and attention to detail are our hallmarks. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and positive, who thrives on guest interaction and is passionate about hospitality, quality, and personalized service. You perform well in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment, embracing challenges where high standards for friendly and professional presence are expected. You are a good communicator and fluent in both Norwegian and English. Experience from similar roles is desired.
Our culinary concepts range from à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner to outdoor dining experiences and cooking classes in our lavvu (Sami tent) and boathouse, where we offer an "open fire cooking" concept. The cuisine is Nordic, with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced Norwegian ingredients.
We collaborate with several local farms and producers, and we also forage some of the ingredients ourselves.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of apprenticeship as a chef
- Experience with Nordic cuisine from fine dining, restaurants, or à la carte kitchens is preferred
- Creative, with a focus on improvement and development
- Proactive
- Strong work ethic
- Fluent in written and spoken English (knowledge of Norwegian/Scandinavian is a plus)
- Independent, efficient, and a team player
- Good communication skills
- Driver licence
Responsibilities:
- Regular shifts including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
- Participate in menu planning and development of existing concepts
- Food safety and HACCP compliance
