The Systems Engineer is essential in designing, developing, and optimizing integrated systems that meet the high standards of maritime operations. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software engineers, as well as technical coordinators, to ensure the systems perform seamlessly, with a focus on reliability and safety.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design and control technical solutions for system integration and performance
- Develop and implement system-level designs, ensuring optimal functionality
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems to deliver systems that meet delivery specifications and industry standards
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to define system requirements and align them with project goals
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, and test procedures
- Develop and execute system-level test plans to validate performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Analyze test results and suggest improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency
- Possibilities to take part in customer meetings, project execution and system testing at factories, yards and customer sites
- Research emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in lifting and handling solutions
- Propose and implement process improvements to optimize system development and lifecycle management
Qualifications
- University degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field
- Equivalent practical experience in a similar role is also acceptable
- Strong system understanding in the interface between electrical drive systems, automation, hydraulics and mechanical construction
- Preferably experience with modern electrical drive systems, energy storage systems and maritime lift and handling system
