Mowi's Global R&D and Technical Department is seeking a skilled and results-driven Data Architect to play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our data architecture to deliver business value from data. Data Architecture is a key component of Mowi 4.0, our digital strategy, and MOWInsight, a strategic program that enables the transformation of data across our value chain into actionable insights that support business decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (GRDT, Farming and IT) to ensure data consistency, integrity, accessibility, and architecture to ensure its potential is realized in analytics and data science leading to value creation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Get business value from data through the implementation of well-designed data models as part of the MOWInsight program

• Structuring data to enable the consistent use of data models for analytics, reporting, and data science

• Engage with operational data sources to understand data context, improve data quality and ensure consistency of definitions, models, criteria for managing outliers, etc.

• Design and develop scalable data architecture solutions to meet business needs, including ingestion and integration of both internal and third-party/vendor data sources in a repeatable and automated way.  

• Engage with stakeholders to gather input, but take ownership of translating requirements into scalable, technically sound architectural designs. 

• Ensure data quality, consistency, validation, deduplication, and security across all systems, with attention to both bounded (batch) and unbounded (streaming) data pipelines.  

• Help make data ready for business use in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models, as well as large language models (LLMs) through effective use of Mowi’s data platform.

• Implement data governance practices and standards.

• Translate business needs into robust data solutions through clear, opinionated architectural decisions that balance competing priorities.   

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Architecture, Information Technology, or related field.

• Experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management.

• Strong knowledge of masterdata, data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., snowflake).

• Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a pragmatic, can-do attitude and comfort operating in agile, fast-moving environments.  

• Knowledge of DataOps and AIOps

This position reports directly to Chief Sustainability and Technology Officer, Catarina Martins. Location is Bergen, Norway – with the flexibility to work hybrid or remotely.
