Lead Structural Design Engineer - Oslo office

We are looking for a driven Lead Structural Design Engineer

Due to increased workloads we are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Designer (Lead Structural Designer) to join our team. As a Lead Structural Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed structural steel models using TEKLA Structures software. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and high-quality designs that meet project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel design and be proficient in using TEKLA software.

As a Lead Designer you will be responsible for developing basic sand detail design expertise in Projects and Tenders. The Lead Designer will typically follow the projects from start to end with a wide variety of tasks ranging from delivering project documents such as 3D-models, arrangement and detail drawing, following up on questions coming from site during erection at locations worldwide.

The position will be placed in Oslo, Norway.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural steel models using design tool like TEKLA Structures software, including beams, columns, connections, and other components.

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of design models, ensuring compliance with project standards, codes, and regulations.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, fabricators, and contractors.

• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.

• Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts through collaboration and problem-solving.

• Generate accurate and comprehensive fabrication drawings, erection plans, and other construction documents.

• Provide support during the construction phase, addressing design-related queries and providing solutions as needed.

• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices on be updated on features in design software and incorporate them int the design process.

Skills & Experience:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, or a related field.

• You have proven experience as a TEKLA Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

• You are proficient in using design tools like TEKLA Structures software for structural steel detailing and design.

• You have solid understanding of structural steel design principles, codes, and standards.

• You have ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.

• You have technical competency in Environmental Control Systems Technology is an advantage.

• You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.

• You have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.   

• You have good computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets.

• You are fluent in written English & spoken Norwegian
