Principal Electronic Engineer - Sensor Technology

As Reach Subsea continues to expand, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Principal Electronics Engineer – Sensor Technology to strengthen our high-performing R&D team. In this role, you will:

Be responsible for the design, development, and validation of electronics systems used in subsea sensor technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and environmental engineering for harsh and high-pressure subsea environments. Serve as a technical authority within the engineering team and will play a key role in the successful delivery of sensor systems for subsea monitoring, measurement, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Validation of current sensor systems and instrumentation.

• Electronics design, incl. simulations, schematics, PCB layout, reviews and testing of analog, digital and mixed signal electronics.

• Provide technical mentorship to mid- and junior-level electronics engineers

• Conduct sensor technology research and stay up to date with emerging technologies

• Provide support and do analysis on sensor issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience within R&D

• Preferably knowledge of marine geophysical instrumentation.

Skills:

• Expertise in sensor technology and electronic design

• Expertise in analog circuit design, including low-noise signal conditioning, ADC/DAC systems, power design.

• Experience in environmental design and testing for subsea or comparable extreme conditions.

• Proficiency in engineering tools such as Altium Designer (or equivalent), SPICE, MATLAB and signal analysis tools.

• Strong understanding of system reliability, and failure mode mitigation.
