Gearbulk is looking for Marine Auditor Quality Assurance
Would you like to be part of further develop the safety and quality work in an international maritime organization? Gearbulk Norway AS is seeking an experienced and structured Marine Auditor Quality Assurance to join our HSEQ team. The position plays an important role in ensuring that our global fleet operates in accordance with Gearbulk’s Safety Management System, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and maritime standards.
The Marine Auditor Quality Assurance will be responsible for carrying out internal audits onboard vessels, ensuring compliance, supporting improvement initiatives, and facilitating a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
What you’ll be responsible for
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with vessels, crew, and shore-based teams to strengthen our safety culture and drive continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Travel to vessels for implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Management system
- Performing internal audits onboard vessels.
- Supporting the implementation and development of the HSEQ management system onboard vessels.
- Assisting vessels during third-party inspections and audits.
- Advising the HSEQ department on areas for improvement and supporting the development of best practices.
- Following up on incident reporting and supporting safety and quality improvements across the fleet.
- Representing Gearbulk in safety and quality matters towards external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and authorities.
- Contributing to training and competence development initiatives.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a structured and experienced professional with a solid background in quality assurance, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in quality assurance, Marine transportation, nautical science, or technical disciplines. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Good IT skills.
- A structured and analytical approach, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- ISM Auditor course (can be provided).

Location and reporting
This position is based in Bergen, Norway, with international travel required, and reports to the Head of HSEQ.
