Head Chef – Shape the culinary experience at one of Oslo’s most iconic villas
Villa Heftye is looking for a visionary and dedicated Head Chef to lead the development of our Italian culinary offering. Nestled in the historic surroundings of Frognerkilen, Villa Heftye is a venue where classic elegance meets contemporary refinement – and where food will be at the heart of the guest experience.
As Head Chef, you will have full responsibility for the kitchen – from concept and menu development to daily operations and team leadership. You are passionate about quality, flavor, and sustainability, and you’re ready to build a kitchen and team that delivers truly exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire – Build, mentor, and manage a strong, passionate, and professional kitchen team.
Ensure top-tier quality – Maintain high standards of hygiene, flavor, and visual presentation.
Develop our Italian menu – With a focus on Norwegian ingredients and creative interpretations of classic Italian dishes.
Operational management – Take ownership of budgeting, planning, cost control, and efficient resource use.
Champion sustainability – Minimize food waste and implement environmentally conscious practices.
Collaborate across teams – Work closely with the restaurant and events team to deliver memorable guest experiences.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotel (minimum 3 years experience )
Culinary certification or equivalent international education.
Strong leadership background with a track record of building successful teams (minimum 3 years experience )
Experience in menu development and sustainable kitchen practices.
Proficiency in Norwegian or English, both spoken and written.
Demonstrated experience and strong competence in Italian cuisine – both traditional and modern interpretations.
Solid understanding of kitchen financials, including budgeting, payroll, and cost control.
