1 Vintage Ray-Ban W1079 Sport Metal Explorer sunglasses from the Ray-Ban Olympics Series were produced 1991-1992 to commemorate the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain and 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. The Ray-Ban W1079 commemorative sunglasses are a variation of iconic Ray-Ban Explorer sunglasses, just slightly more elongated and with a subtle wrap design to contour more closely to the face. The unisex Ray-Ban W1079 Explorer frame measures approximately 5.75" temple to temple, and the Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 1.675" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban along with the Olympic rings and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. You'll find the logo Ray-Ban logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and the Olympic rings on the other, and the inside of one stem is marked W1079 while the inside of the other stem is marked 1992 Olympic Games and one ear pad is impressed W1079 VUAS. The top of the nose bar is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bar is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 61 [] 16, part of one of the world's finest collections of Olympics memorabilia in Los Angeles, CA.
