Overview
As part of our commitment to innovation in New Product Development and Emerging Technologies, we are excited to introduce the role of Research Funding Advisor to our team. This position will operate at the intersection of research and research administration, developing support services for research funding. The role will also involve maintaining a comprehensive overview of the organization's innovation activities and ensuring that different teams are aware of related activities in other departments.
In this role, you will participate in the development of application processes and collaborate with funders. Your responsibilities will include communication and training on research funding. Additionally, you will support the leadership of the Corporate Engineering and Technology group in planning research funding applications.

You will be responsible for securing research and innovation funding, primarily from the Research Council of Norway, as well as other national and international funding opportunities. Your key responsibilities will include identifying potential funding sources and relevant networks, interpreting funders' terms and conditions for researchers, and building consortiums. Additionally, you will review, provide feedback on, and contribute to grant writing. You will also monitor funding opportunities and communicate them to our innovation teams, providing training and support to ensure successful applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Advisor Guidance: As a Research Funding Advisor, you will provide expert guidance to innovation teams and developers, helping them navigate the complexities of securing funding This includes offering strategic advice on identifying suitable funding opportunities, interpreting funders' terms and conditions, and building strong consortiums Your role will be pivotal in ensuring innovation teams and developers are well-informed and prepared to submit competitive applications
Application Process: You will oversee the entire application process, from initial identification of funding sources to the final submission This involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared, and adhering to funders' guidelines Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in managing timelines and meeting all requirements
Proposal Development: You will play a key role in the development of proposals, collaborating with innovation teams and developers to draft compelling and well-structured applications This includes reviewing and providing feedback on proposals, ensuring they align with funders' expectations, and highlighting the strengths of the project Your expertise in grant writing will be essential in crafting persuasive narratives that secure funding
Submission and Deadlines: Managing submission deadlines is a critical aspect of your role You will be responsible for tracking and communicating deadlines to innovation teams and developers, ensuring timely submission of applications This includes coordinating the final review process, addressing any last-minute issues, and submitting applications through the appropriate channels Your organizational skills will ensure that all submissions are completed accurately and on time

Supervisory Responsibilities
Initially, the role will not involve direct supervision, but it will focus on mentoring and guiding various development teams in the domain of funding. As a part of the NPD and ET core team.

Reports to Sindre Hegglund-Dalseth, Director of New Product Development & Emerging Technologies.
Qualifications
Experience in supporting funding applications
Knowledge of national and international funding organisations
Experience in research work
Strong communication skills, fluent English, written and spoken
Leadership and mentoring experience
Working Conditions
The team has its base in the Offices at Forus and most of the work will be conducted from the office. We are however very flexible with remote work and home office use based on the individuals needs throughout the envolvement in their private lives.
In the office we have singular offices which accommodated for both concentrated work and having colleagues in for collaboration.
The role will include sporadic travels to both customers and other Oceaneering sites around the globe.
