Sadly my wife does not share my passion for designer furniture. So with a heavy heart I have to sell this absolute gem of a table. It was clearly put to me, that its "her or the table" and honestly, for a moment, I had to remind myself that "her" is the correct answer.
It has recently come into my possession and is every bit the show stopper Eero intended it to be. This table will find pride of place in any lounge, man cave, restaurant, bar, retail space or Hytta. It is a sturdy Beast with a cast base and cut safety glass top. The glass top is almost 2cm in depth. The Mark is CT5 or CTS and is not marked Knoll or Kartel. It is however every bit a Tulip in its delicate proportions. Tulip´s range in price from NOK 25000 - NOK 75000, this version, I have, is well priced.
I really want this to go to a good home, so please apply for ownership and click my add. This coffee table must be collected in Asker at the owner´s expense, bring a friend and a trailer. The table is currently being stored in a dry garage, easily accessible from the road.
Description of an original Knoll tables:
The Saarinen Collection is a series of tables designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1957. It includes the Round Table and the Oval Table, also known as the Tulip Table, in various models such as dining tables, side tables and coffee tables. These tables have a stylish columnar base made of die-cast aluminum that harmonizes with a round or oval table top. The tops are available in four different materials, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The base is available in white or black. Each table is stamped with the "Knoll Studio" logo and Eero Saarinen's signature. They are well complemented by the Tulip Chair and Tulip Stool by Eero Saarinen from Knoll.
Eero Saarinen, a prominent Finnish architect and furniture designer, is known for his groundbreaking works, including the Tulip Chair and several other acclaimed pieces for Knoll. These tables can be easily adapted to different interior styles, offer a comfortable seating experience and, despite being designed in the 1950s, remain modern and timeless.
