Job Description

Head Compliance NMX will work together with the rest of the team to continuously develop the compliance programme, provide support to ensure that the company complies with the increasingly demanding legislative frameworks and actively mitigates the risks we face in different markets, in particular in the Nordics and in the US.

The responsibilities of the team include, but are not limited to:

  • Compliance legal advice: Provide legal advice on compliance related matters. Compliance NMX will be responsible for providing such advice in Norway, Sweden and the US across a number of legislative topics related to compliance.
  • Support for M&A and investment projects: the team will provide analytical and advisory support on M&A and investment projects arising in these jurisdictions.
  • Risk assessment and support for mitigation: the team will facilitate assessments of corruption and compliance risks and support for design of mitigation steps in the various business areas.
  • Integrity due diligence reviews: the team will conduct integrity due diligence reviews of potential partners for different business areas. The role also includes a general O&M responsibility over the unit’s IDD digital tools and procedures.
  • Training and communication activities: the team will deliver business ethics and anti-corruption training in these jurisdictions and business areas, and contributing to communication initiatives on the topic.
  • Cross-country, cross-BA cooperation and HQ support role with regard to improvement initiatives, digitalisation, risk assessment methodology, training and communication materials and cycle, reporting, monitoring and KPIs.
  • Practical advice: the team will provide practical support and advice on compliance to new projects and initiatives in the business areas, as required.

Head of Compliance NMX will have two main roles:

  • Undertake compliance work: Deliver the above-mentioned activities for select geographies.
  • Manage the team: Oversee the deliveries of the team, including providing four eyes QA of important sign-offs / advice given. Ensure collaboration across the team and with the compliance unit more broadly. The person may also be responsible for managing additional consultant resources or temporary resources as required.

Management responsibilities:  

Reports to VP Head of Corporate Compliance. Mandates and decision authorities are defined in the Operating Model. 

Head of Compliance NMX shall support VP Head of Corporate Compliance and SVP Sustainability, Governance and Compliance to manage and develop the delivery of targets, including: 

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of employees. 
  • Develop the organisation to deliver on business priorities and ensure collaboration with other units. 
  • Ensure awareness of and adherence with Code of Conduct and The Statkraft Way.  
  • Oversee the overall planning, budgeting, and performance management process within the unit. 


Qualifications

Education

  • Higher relevant education preferably in the legal and/or compliance fields.

Experience / knowledge

  • At least 7 years of experience in legal, compliance, anti-corruption and anti-fraud investigations, risk assessments and corruption and fraud prevention.
  • Solid experience in managing a compliance program in a large complex organisation, including M&A, DD, risk assessment, training experience.

Leadership and abilities

  • Leadership skills with an ability to build trust and empowerment
  • Excellent collaborative skills. Relationship builder with the ability to collaborate constructively with business and functional leaders
  • High personal integrity and high ethical standards
  • Precise, structured and able to work systematically
  • Strong drive and passion for building a strong compliance culture in a growing organisation
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Ability to work independently and with great sense of initiative
  • Solution oriented and ability to deliver, within set timeframes
  • High degree of business acumen
  • International experience is an advantage for such role
  • Excellent communication and languages skills: fluent English is needed and language skills in relevant languages for Statkraft are an advantage
