About the role

Join our team as the Head of Internal Communications and play a pivotal role in shaping DNV Maritime’s strategic employee communication efforts and enhancing our organizational brand.

Based in either Oslo or Hamburg, you will be responsible for developing and executing DNV Maritime’s employee communication strategy. As a strategic leader dedicated to creative excellence in internal communications, you will drive and design innovative internal communication strategies, employee and leadership campaigns, and targeted programmes aimed at advancing the company's business objectives.

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing in the Maritime business area, you will work to meet business requirements, goals, and KPIs, supported by a team of internal communication experts and collaborating closely with the global Communications and Marketing organization in Maritime.

Key responsibilities: 

• Develop, lead, and implement the overall employee communications vision and strategy in line with the Maritime business area and Marketing and Communications Strategy.

• Actively promote and reinforce DNV’s values and culture, cultivating awareness, fostering employee pride, and driving higher engagement levels by developing and executing employee engagement programmes and campaigns, maintaining a feedback loop with employees 

• Partner with HR to support talent acquisition and retention, employee development and growth, and DE&I initiatives.• Serve as a vital link between executive leaders and employees.

• Collaborate with the global communications and marketing team for regional strategy execution, addressing local cultural nuances, and fostering global-regional internal communication alignment.

• Develop and execute change communication programmes for crisis and organizational transitions, ensuring transparent stakeholder communication. 

• Sit within the crisis communications team, collaboratively preparing and executing crisis management strategies to ensure effective communication during critical situations.

• Manage and govern all Maritime internal communication channels, including intranet, newsletters, internal social platforms and events (e.g. Town Halls, Surveyor Days, and Leadership events) to disseminate important information and drive engagement.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of employee communication efforts, monitor and analyze the results, and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in internal communications, content creation, and event management to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Position Qualifications:

• Relevant degree in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Journalism, Organizational Psychology, or similar, with a strong foundation in internal communications and employee engagement.

• At least five years of experience in corporate or internal communications, with a proven track record as a senior project manager, preferably in a leadership role.

• High level of organizational awareness, experience consulting and closely collaborating with C-suite stakeholders

• Proven ability in content creation, internal communications strategy development, and fostering an engaging organizational culture.

• Knowledge of communication tools and platforms used for internal communication and engagement.

• Strong writing and content creation skills, including the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proficiency in working autonomously and collaboratively as part of an international, virtual team.

• Experience in the Maritime industry or technical assurance would be advantageous.
