Six Sigma Black Belt

We are seeking a Six Sigma Black Belt to strengthen our team

The Six Sigma DMAIC Black Belt (BB) is a “High Calibre”, data driven problem solver specializing in solving complex issues that will bring major breakthrough initiatives to successful completion and capture significant growth opportunities in the organization

GKN Norway AS are currently on a Lean journey that have generated major changes with significant improvements over the last 3 years. The BB will, as a part of the Lean team, act as a change agent and role model for leading change and Lean transformation. The role reports to the site Lean deployment leader

Key Accountabilities

• The delegated owner of the Six Sigma program for the site including both capability building and sustainment as well as rigorous DMAIC application and execution.
• Driving the disciplined execution of complex data driven problem solving (Black Belt projects as well as Kaizen Events) as part of the Lean Operating Model deployment
• Support the Leadership team in their deployment of the Lean Operating Model
• Training & coaching Green Belts to certification completion and beyond
•  Delivering results that significantly affects our People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) metrics, meeting our customer and stakeholder commitments
• Developing SIX SIGMA DMAIC Expertise for relevant roles across the site, ensuring that they become self-sufficient in problem solving

Candidate requirements:

• A relevant BSc or MSc is preferred, but applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered.
• Relevant experience within a manufacturing facility, preferably from aerospace or comparable industry.
• Documented experience with the Six Sigma DMAIC process
• Fluent (oral and written) English and Norwegian.

The right candidate must have good interpersonal skills and be able to effectively work and communicate at all levels both within and external to the organization. The candidate must be a problem solver that uses their analytical skills to find strong solutions to quality related issues. We also see that the candidate is structured and self-driven with the ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
