Protein Science R&D Laboratory Technician (6 months contract)

The R&D Lab Technician will be responsible for practical preparation, execution of laboratory trials, and R&D laboratory maintenance, as well as for contributing to data/documentation management and R&D method development. The job location will be at Aker BioMarine new plant at Ski Næringspark in Viken county, 12 minutes by train (Follobanen) from Oslo. The role will be reporting to Senior Scientist Product Development, R&D, Protein Human Nutrition. Expected start in this role: 1st of March 2023 (6 months contract).

Responsibilities:

Participate in work related to verification and validation of lab methods as well as instrument/equipment qualification, maintenance, calibration, and control
Plan and execute R&D laboratory experiments, also in relation to process and product development
Record and report results according to standards and systems in place, ensuring good data management and documentation practice
Adhere and contribute to relevant quality documentation such as SOP’s, methods, protocols, work instructions and EHS policies
Contribute to the general upkeep of the R&D laboratory and the instruments and equipment therein, e.g., follow housekeeping and EHS-routines
Perform laboratory instrument and analytical method troubleshooting
Supporting the QC lab functionalities when needed

Work Experience Requirements:

Experience with practical R&D laboratory work with a focus on protein biochemistry and biotechnology, preferably in relation to process development and/or product development
Experience with methods related to protein purification and characterization, protein hydrolysis, and data reporting/analysis is considered advantageous
Minimum 1-2 years relevant working experience

Education requirements:

Master’s degree in biotechnology or protein biochemistry, or similar
