Yara Maritime Logistics is responsible for arranging all maritime transportation (dry bulk, liquid and containers) on behalf of Yara.
The annual volume is about 16 million tons which is equally split between Deep Sea / Short Sea. In addition over 1 million tons of products in containers.
The YML team comprises 17 people covering chartering and operations
The position reports to Senior Manager Maritime Operations and located in Oslo.
Responsibilities
- Handling all operational / post-fixture matters for the respective vessels
- Contract call off of shipments on behalf of all Business units, in time and ensuring best altenative is selected.
- Ensure close coordination and collaboration with Yara's production plants, business units and markets, as well as ship owners, brokers and agents in order to optimize the maritime operational activities
- Ensure the operational performance of vessels. In particular on time arrival and first survey passed in so do avoid all production losses and costs
- Check and approve laytime calculations
- Provide timely and precise instructions to owners, brokers and agents
- Ensure on time freight and demurrage payments
- Keep Imos system (VMS) up to date
- Follow up cargo claims
- Actively contribute to the departments freight savings initiative program
- Participation in various logistics projects
Profile
- University/ Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2 to 5 years experience with short or deep sea shipments
- Previous experience working with ship owners/brokers operations is an advantage
- Structured and analytical
- Organized and accountable
- Pro active and problem solver mindset
- Team-player, adaptable, and enthusiastic
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations is an advantage
- Good IT skills
- Fluent in English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of Yara's business model is an advantage
