The Chemist we are looking for will be responsible for finding suitable laboratory equipment and for maintenance and managing of the chosen equipment.
With Alginor, you will get to work in an exciting environment with a rapid development. Alginor is approaching 40 employees and consultants who work closely on our projects. Factory planning and establishment, kelp processing, alginate production, product and process development are just a few of the task performed by our employees.
Description of tasks:
- Develop methods for sample preparation and elemental impurity analysis for raw materials and finished products.
- Analysis of our raw materials and finished products by ICP-MS, SEC-MALS, CHNS (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Sulphur) Analyzer and FTIR.
- Method validation, method verification and method transfer.
- Write and review SOPs, test methods, validation protocols and validation reports.
- Participate in daily operations of laboratory, including analytical testing and instrument calibration, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Participate in installation and qualification of new instrumentation / equipment in the laboratory.
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as analytical or inorganic chemistry. Relevant experience can compensate for parts of the educational requirement.
- Minimum three years’ experience with independent analytical work using ICP/MS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with analytical instruments such as SEC-MALS, HPLC, CHNS, FTIR, RAMAN etc.
- Experience from method development and validation of methods.
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Knowledge within Biopolymer chemistry.
- Experience using a Lab Information Management system (LIMS).
