We are now looking for a IT Team lead who can contribute to Aibel's exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition.

Aibel is strengthening our IT organisation by establishing a new unit with responsibility towards our cloud development platform and its services. We are looking for someone that will lead a team of developers where you must have a keen interest in further enhancing the agile developer experience on our DevOps platform. Your insight into new trends and existing knowledge will create a clear strategy, delivering on new initiatives and deliverables both internally in IT, and towards engineering end-users. If you are to succeed you must have understanding and experience in managing services on Azure and be comfortable with taking architectural decision together with your team.

The position is part of our Application Management leadership where the role enables you to work closely with cross functional teams and have frequent contact with business stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop the area in accordance with strategy and business demands while actively monitoring relevant technology and chasing improvements.
  • Draw up a vision, anchor a strategy and deliver on a roadmap for DevOps in Aibel.
  • Participate in discussions on IT architecture, own and drive our development platform, including governance and standards.
  • Manage and motivate a staff of highly skilled IT professionals, including ensuring necessary professional development, hereunder budget responsibility.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other stakeholders and ensure a companywide buy-in of new cloud services.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, maintenance and efficient user support for developed solutions.
  • Ensure that product testing is carried out within established procedures.
  • Contribute to improved competence, transfer of experience, best practice and focus on continuous improvements.

Qualifications and personal characteristics:

  • Master or Bachelor in Information technology, engineering, economy or similar. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of emerging technologies and trends and great analytical and technical skills with at least 3 years of experience with development tools and technologies, hereunder MS Azure, Kubernetes, React, GitHub etc..
  • At least 5 years of experience and expertise in IT; especially hands-on with Agile Development methods and DevOps principles.
  • Management experience and/or management education and experience with IT project management is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience within the oil, gas, renewables sector is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English - verbally, presentations and written work.
