We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced engineer to join the growing Software Automation team at Nordic Semiconductor. As a SW Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing CI/CD solutions for Nordic SW deliverables.
Nordic embraces open-source software development models for all projects and the CI/CD system is an integral part of this process. The automation team designs, develops, and implements the systems needed to achieve this. The position includes installing and maintaining build and test nodes, toolchain management, network security and reliability monitoring. Periodically the candidate would also be responsible for server room operations and new hardware purchases. In addition, it is desired that the candidate has experience with embedded software development to work effectively with product developers.
We are looking to recruit for this position at many of Nordic Semiconductor’s R&D sites throughout the world. When working with cross-site projects, the candidate would be expected to travel occasionally to our other R&D facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Planning future development and improvements of the CI/CD system. This includes finding new tools and organizing their roll-out in the Nordic infrastructure
- Automating maintenance of legacy CI/CD systems
- Debugging distributed automation failures
- Developing standard work processes for developers to use
- Server Infrastructure management (HW upgrades, purchasing, installation)
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar engineering program with preferably at least 2 years' relevant work experience
- Experience with developing in Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with CI tools and configuration-as-code principles
- Comfortable working with VM's and containers (docker)
- Experience with scripting in Python or similar languages
- Experience with cloud service tools (AWS, Azure)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
