Telenor Research is Telenor?s corporate unit for research. You will be part of the Customer and Competition group, which is responsible for research in Telenor within the fields of econometrics, industrial organization and behavioral economics. Telenor Research has a widely recognized reputation, also marked by a long-standing cooperation with the Norwegian School of Economics.

Our key role is to adapt insights from academia to improve Telenor?s performance in a competitive market. Our own research is centered around econometrics, industrial organization and behavioral economics, and is published in ranked journals. As our new employee you will access unique data streams and ad-hoc datasets from Telenor Group as well as doing your own surveys and experiments. Telenor Group is one of the world?s major mobile operators across the Nordics and Asia, which allows running cross-sectional analyses across 9 different markets.

In our team you will work in domains such as business insight, behavioral economics, pricing, and competition analysis and become central in enhancing Telenor?s performance. The topics range from privacy, trust and pricing psychology to net neutrality regulation. This is a great opportunity to become an experienced advisor and meet a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds.  Our unit regularly advices high-level management teams, in addition to our local mobile operators.

This is what our ideal candidate looks like:

• You should have a PhD in economics, ideally within the fields of econometrics, industrial organization or behavioral economics

• You are a statistical mastermind and is proficient in one or more statistical programs such as Stata/Python/R

• You thrive for perfection and have the ability to publish in highly ranked journals

• Your passion is to influence through research and you enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams

• Your positive influence inspires others, you are self-driven, open-minded, and different personalities and points of view stimulate you

• You enjoy presenting complex topics to top management, and you are willing to invest time to become a better speaker and communicator
