Job description

The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities. We are now expanding to become a leading developer of onshore wind and solar projects and to develop new business initiatives.

Your role

We are seeking a trainee to strengthen our Commercial team. The team currently consists of 14 people located in Oslo, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Madrid and is working closely with the business developers across all geographies within European Wind and Solar. In this role you will work on a broad range of commercial topics like project acquisitions and sales, analysis of the investor market, investor offering and structure, project profitability, market entry strategies and securing routes to market via government auctions and corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

The composition of the year long program will be tailored to your background and will give you broad experience and professional challenges. At the end of the program you will get a permanent position in the commercial department in European wind and Solar. The position is based in Oslo or London.

Your profile

• Masters degree in economics, business administration or similar
• Self-driven, structured, business oriented and a positive team player, comfortable with high work pressure, with excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English language, proficiency in another main European language would be an advantage
• Passion for business, energy markets and the renewable industry
• Personal initiative and creativity will be emphasized
• You are flexible in terms of tasks and mobility

About the International Trainee Programme

The objective of the programme is to develop young talents in the best way possible, and provide insight into our entire operations and value chain. It is a one-year programme with three different work rotations of four months, of which at least one will be abroad. The programme is tailored to the trainees background and the units competence needs. As a trainee you will attend regular courses and social gatherings where the trainee group meets to acquire new skills and share experiences. Upon completion of the programme you are offered a permanent position in the department where you will continue to work in a new position.
