Senior Power Trader

The main activities of the Business Area Market (M) are energy management for Statkrafts assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, South America and India. In addition, the business area contains local business support, finance & risk support, and IT services. In M there are more than 700 employees.

The European Origination department has more than 50 employees in Oslo, Trondheim, Stockholm, Düsseldorf as well as Madrid. The department is responsible for a customer portfolio of more than 30 TWh in yearly sales and structured trading activities. It operates a growing portfolio of long-term PPAs across Europe.

Its business activities and customer solutions are crucial for delivering on Statkrafts strategy to become a leading provider of market solutions for external producers and large customers in Europe.

To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a

Senior Power Trader

The role will report to Head of Market Access based in Trondheim and be part of the Nordic Origination department. The workplace can be Oslo or Trondheim.

Your role:

• Deliver PnL on set PnL targets 
• Develop and improve efficient operations regarding physical trading
• Create new business within the mandates set rules and regulations
• Support Nordic Origination in offering competitive energy-solutions to bilateral counterparts
• Build on and improve existing business relations
• Make day-ahead consumption prognosis and nominate

Your profile:

• Technical and/or economical university level degree masters degree
• Mathematical/statistical knowledge is an advantage
• International experience with commodity-trading
• Proven positive trading record
• Strategic, commercially minded and analytical person
• Fluent in English and preferably good knowledge Norwegian, other languages an advantage
• Team player, who enjoys achieving goals within a team
• Self-propelled, structured and able to get things done
