Solution Architect ABAX

Job description
ABAX is strengthening the SW Engineering department with a Solution Architect.

As a Solution Architect in ABAX you will work in the Technology section close together with other Tech Leads, the Chief Architect, Product Owners, Business analysts and SW Engineering managers in order to design good solutions to our customers´ problems. You will be advising both technical and business-oriented people in a way to solve business problems practically and efficiently. You will also be mentoring developers in several teams, striving to make their code more straightforward, concise and easy to maintain. Being an advisor for both technical and commercial resources in order to balance the effort needed in order to bring good solutions to our market is a vital part of the job.

Job responsibilities 
The Solution Architect bridges the gap between business problems and technology solutions. It encompasses:

• Finding the best technical solutions in order to solve complex business problems.
• Describing the structure, characteristics, behaviour and other aspects of software to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Keep the solutions lightweight and cloud-ready for our SaaS offerings, in close cooperation with our Chief Architect.

• Identify dependencies, features, phases, and solution requirements.
• Strive for autonomy among teams, mitigate the need for coordination effort and deal with technical debt responsibly.
• Providing high-level design of the solution according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.
• Balance complexity, risk, scope, cost, quality, time and resources in order to find the solutions that are most profitable for ABAX and most valuable for customers.

In ABAX you´ll be working with an exciting mix of new technologies in a highly scaled IoT ecosystem. Our technology and solutions spans hardware, firmware and software and as a solution architect you need to be able to understand and work across these different technology domains. ABAX has full ownership of all our technology areas and all development (Hardware, Software and Firmware) is done inhouse. This makes ABAX a unique, exciting and challenging place to work!

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of working experience within SW Engineering
  
• Experience within SW Engineering infrastructure and/or SaaS cloud development
  
• Software architecture design and engineering with hands-on experience working with backend and frontend applications, microservices architecture using asynchronous, event-driven communication
  
• Familiarity and/or practical experience (preferred) with BDD, TDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing and especially DDD.
  
• Good knowledge of distributed software architecture and messaging technologies like MQTT, AMQP, message brokers and event streaming.
  
• Practical experience with a wide range of storage technologies from relational and document databases to key-value, time-series and event-oriented stores.
  
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like Vue, TypeScript, Angular and React is a plus.
  
• DevOps mindset capable of handling automation and build maintenance aiming for continuous delivery and deployment using Docker, GitLab, and Kubernetes in the cloud.
  
• Experience working in an agile development environment with Kanban and/or Scrum.
