Tax/VAT controller

We are currently looking for an experienced TAX/VAT controller to a newly opened position in the FSAS (Financial Statutory Accounting Services) team in Norway. As an employee in Wärtsilä Norway AS you will be a part of a constantly changing organization requiring us to always be on top of the challenges. Our aim is to build a world class FSAS team and we need your help.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax returns, monthly reports and assists the company with all tax/vat activities with opinion, training, set up of new procedure and new tool.
• Ensure tax compliance, in line with corporate and local guidelines (corporate manual, accounting manual, local legislation, EU directives, etc.).
• Give advice and support on Corporate Tax, VAT and other indirect tax on local and international transactions, business project and business developments.
• Initiating, driving and supporting the digitalization in Taxation and in Finance.
• VAT registrations, reconciliations and Intrastat reporting
• Customs

Personal Requirements

• Good team working skills, positive attitude and pro-active thinking
• Initator, having a flexible approach
• Fluent in both English and Norwegian
• Strong analytical and research skills

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, accounting or other relevant higher education (experience may compensate for education)
• Knowledge and experience from Corporate Tax, Withholding tax and tax returns
• Experienced in both national and international VAT rules
• Knowledge of regulations related to customs
• SAP experience is an advantage

The location will be preferably in Rubbestadneset, but for the ideal candidate Asker or Moss can also be an option.  The position will be reporting to Financial Controller in the FSAS team in Norway located in Rubbestadneset
