ABOUT THE JOB 

Nordic Semiconductor R&D engineers in a large variety of technical profession disciplines work together designing tomorrows technology, today. The HW verification team is one of the key teams, contributing throughout the entire product development process. The team’s activities start at project initiation and continue uninterruptedly through the prototype approval and transfer to production milestones. Developing complex, high performance devices requires a team that can develop equally advanced and efficient verification tools and practices. The HW verification lead manages this multidisciplinary HW verification team, reporting directly to the product project manager. As a HW verification team lead you will be driving the pre- and post-silicon verification effort, ensuring both functional correctness and adherence to key performance metrics.

You will be responsible for establishing all required engineering evidence for new IPs and prototypes and making the necessary preparations for transfer to mass production. Responsibility includes development and improvement of HW verification strategies and methodology, risk assessment and test coverage analysis. Working in close cooperation with various other R&D specialist teams, you will have a commanding view of the entire HW development process.  
 
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or similar OR BSc with at least 3 years´ relevant work experience  
  • Good understanding of semiconductor verification and production principles  
  • Ability to understand complex digital and analog system architectures and their performance metrics
  • Proven track record in leadership and project management 
  • Structured work approach and good communication skills  
  • Fluency in the English language (written and oral) 

DESIRABLE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

  • Semiconductor development experience from digital, analog or mixed-mode designs
  • Experience with tele regulatory conformance testing and radio technology standards
  • Good understanding of RF transceiver architectures 
  • Familiar with technical document management
