Certification Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB  
Nordic Semiconductor´s R&D capacity and product portfolio is expanding. Our advanced products are designed to meet the requirements defined by technology standards and national authorities worldwide. Proving conformance to technology standards and tele regulatory requirements is crucial to obtaining access to the international market. We are looking to recruit a systematic and talented Certification Manager to lead standards certification activities for a diverse range of semiconductors and applications.
 
As Certification Manager you will be working with R&D Project Managers and the HW Verification Team which provide the engineering evidence required to confirm adherence to relevant standards and specifications. Where regulations restrict self-declaration or in-house testing, you will liaise with other relevant stakeholders such as authoritative bodies and external test laboratories. You will be in charge of developing a comprehensive product certification process where important factors include qualification test lead time reduction, maximizing test evidence reuse and reduction of qualification test costs. Your responsibilities will also include the management and maintenance of compliance documentation. 

You will define, drive and oversee the top-level certification activities for all R&D product deliverables, ranging from complex development kits to features implemented at IP-level. Your work will include high-level conformance test planning of industry standards like LTE, Bluetooth, Thread, Zigbee and other market leading communication protocols. Working with multi-disciplinary teams of highly motivated R&D engineers and standards specialists, you will ensure the timely market introduction of the next generation of Nordic Semiconductor devices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to all R&D development projects with deliverables critical to product release and market access. 
  
 
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

• MSc in Electrical Engineering or similar OR BSc with at least 3 years´ relevant work experience  
• Thorough and detailed understanding of electronic product certification principles and technology standards management  
• Self-driven and able to drive and define process improvements
• Structured work approach and good communication skills  
• Fluency in the English language (written and oral) 
• Comfortable writing documentation in English and motivated to contribute to our customer-facing documentation 

 
DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:  

• Experience with tele regulatory standards and RF based product test/certification (LTE)
• Good understanding of RF transmission protocol test requirements (e.g. LTE, Bluetooth, Zigbee or similar)  
• Familiar with technical documentation
